As of April 2021, more than 650 million SARS-CoV-2 tests have been performed worldwide since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.¹ This level of throughput has required the development of completely new testing infrastructures in record time. Moreover, the processes and workflows must be compliant with the requirements of the diagnostic setting.
